Toronto FC finally made it to Seattle today, after trying to leave Edmonton on a relatively short flight yesterday afternoon.
Their flight was delayed, then cancelled, and alternative arrangements had to made. Ultimately, the Reds players flew to Vancouver, then took a three hour bus trip south to the Emerald City, arriving around 9am Pacific Time.
Travel issues aside, TFC has to be feeling good about their most result result, a 3-0 rout of upstart FC Edmonton in the Canadian Championship. Maicon and Alan Gordon both found the net for Toronto, with Joao Plata playing the role of provider in his first start for the Reds.

Who was that team in white during the second half, and can we see them play every week?
After a scrappy first half against the visiting Seattle Sounders that saw neither team gain any real edge in play, Toronto FC came out in the seconfd half a team possessed.
Purposeful passing, smart running off the ball, and – most importantly – a cohesiveness that has not been seen thus far in the 2010 season. All of these things were on display from the hometown side for a stretch, led by the sublime skill of the team’s highest-paid player Julian de Guzman.

Say what you will about the Seattle Sounders, they sure do have a penchant for late-game dramatics.
After edging past the visiting Kansas City Wizards at Qwest Field last week, the Sounders tooka second half lead at Dallas yesterday, only to see it disappear on the back of a controversial penalty kick call in favour of the Texas side in injury time.
Seattle looked well on its way to securing three road points, before an FC Dallas player was allegedly tripped up in the Sounders’ box, resulting in former TFC striker Jeff Cunningham’s second PK goal of the night.
