For as bad as TFC looked in their 3-0 away loss at Seattle this past weekend, FC Edmonton has look far worse over the past seven days.
A 3-0 dismantling by Toronto was followed up by an even more embarrassing 5-0 loss to the Montreal Impact in league play for the Edmonton side, the two games representing FCE’s “home openers” and introduction to their fans.
As much as Edmonton should love the fact that they are able to get away from the scene of their failures over the past week, TFC has to be overjoyed to be returning home after their shameful performance on the West Coast. With a three-goal aggregate lead and an opponent that makes Toronto FC look like FC Barcelona, the Reds will be looking forward to erasing their shame by putting the boots to their hapless Albertan cousins.
What kind of line up will we see on Wednesday night at BMO Field? Likely another mix of starters and fringe players, although it should be expected that the team sheet will skew more towards the reserve side of the ledger for this match.
